If you're wondering why you haven't received a payment update after the sender used the PayNow QR Code, there could be several reasons for this:
1. Transaction Rejection by Sender's Bank:
It's possible that the sender's bank declined the transaction before it reached Fazz. To address this issue, recommend that the sender review their bank app for any reversal notifications or transaction cancellations.
2. PayNow QR Code Transaction Reference Mismatch:
In order for Fazz to accurately reconcile PayNow payments, we rely on the transaction reference to match incoming funds. When the sender scans the QR code, their banking app should automatically populate the Fazz transaction reference in the remarks or comments field.
Here's an example of how it appears in the DBS app: paynow3a1f23fc1663128694.
The problem occurs when the sender changes the transaction reference. In these cases, Fazz will not be able to link the payment to the correct incoming funds. As a result, the funds will be automatically credited to your account using the Virtual Account method. If you encounter this situation, it's imperative that you manually update the payment status on your end.
To prevent reconciliation issues when using the PayNow QR Code, we advise senders not to modify the remarks or comments field and include a message like "Please ensure you don't amend the transaction remarks or comments" to reinforce this.
3. Beware of Fake PayNow Screenshots:
Beware of fraudulent PayNow screenshots. There have been instances of scammers using fake PayNow payment confirmations to trick service providers. Instead of solely depending on what the sender displays, always double-check your account to confirm if the payment has been received.
